CHEMICAL PEEL

Chemical peels can be customized to the unique needs of each patient's skin to help resurface and renew your complexion for smooth results.

What is Chemical Peel?

For the best results from chemical peel treatments, RareV provides you with different choices. Your customized facial treatment with chemical solutions (such as salicylic, glycolic, lactic, and trichloroacetic acids) will give you more radiant skin. At our Las Vegas, NV office, our team offers chemical peel treatments that help to remove skin flaws, including scars, fine lines, wrinkles, dry patches, hyperpigmentation problems, and more. Chemical peels clear away dead, damaged skin cells using a specific treatment on the skin, which causes the upper layer to slough off. As your skin recovers and begins to rejuvenate and repair itself, you may notice a clearer, smoother complexion. A chemical peel facial is a noninvasive technique to make your complexion radiant and is used for the face and neck.

Variations of Chemical Peels

In our Las Vegas, NV office, we perform chemical peels in a few levels (light, medium, and deep) to fit our patients' skincare concerns and goals. Light peels: You can have a light chemical peel during your lunch break and return to your routine. This strength of peel will remove the top skin layer (the epidermis), giving your facial features a more radiant appearance and smoother texture. We usually recommend that you get a light chemical peel at least once a month for the best glowing results. Medium-depth peels: This strength of a chemical peel goes deeper into the skin, and patients generally prefer to have this strength of facial rejuvenation treatment over a long weekend. You may also prefer to ready yourself for more discomfort during and up to one hour after a chemical peel. Medium-depth peels are for patients who have significant damage to their skin, like deeper lines and darker pigmentation problems. Deep peels: The strongest of the three types of chemical peels is the deep chemical peel, and it does require the lengthiest recovery time. This is an aggressive procedure that could leave your face swollen, peeling, and itchy for 2 – 3 weeks. Patients who have a deep peel usually have age or dark spots, sun-damaged skin, prominent acne scars, and/or deep scars. As this strength of chemical peel is usually uncomfortable for most patients, we may provide you with local anesthesia prior to your procedure.

Who is an ideal candidate?

Getting the advice of a skin specialist is the first part of the journey to healthy, smooth skin. A team member at RareV will evaluate your skin in an examination in our Las Vegas, NV office before selecting a chemical peel for ideal results. Chemical peel patients, both men, and women, typically have noticeable issues with their skin, including scaly patches, flaky skin, uneven pigmentation, fine lines, sun spots, and much more. We can recommend different strengths of peels to match your goals.

How does a chemical peel work?

During your procedure at RareV, we will have you lying down in a relaxed position to administer your peel. We will ensure your skin is cleaned before applying the personalized solution to the treatment areas. We will massage the solution onto your face and let it work for a specific length of time, which will be determined in your treatment planning session. Then, we will wash the solution off your skin and apply a neutralizing agent. You should bring a light sunscreen or a hat to wear outside following the peel to protect from sun exposure.

What can I expect after a Chemical Peel?

Depending on the strength of the peel you have, you should expect the treated area to peel and itch from several days to two or more weeks. A member of our team will discuss methods to care for your face during your appointment. Please remember that no matter how much your skin itches during the post-treatment process, it is not good to pull the skin off. You may create scarring to your facial skin!
