SCULPTRA

Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic injectable dermal filler that can help provide volume into the mid-face area to reduce fine lines and deep wrinkles.

What is Sculptra?

Loss of volume happens during the natural aging process, particularly in the mid-face, as the cheeks tend to become flat and hollow. Our aesthetic team at RareV uses Sculptra Aesthetic, a poly-L-lactic acid injectable dermal filler that allows for longer-lasting and deeper volume in the cheeks. In addition to increasing the volume of the mid-face, Sculptra can reduce the look of shallow to deep wrinkles and lines, like the nasolabial folds (also called smile or laugh lines) that go from the edges of the nose down to the outer corners of the mouth. With a unique formula approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), Sculptra encourages the natural production of collagen in your body, so even after you stop injections, your skin should be stronger and healthier compared to before Sculptra treatments. What are the benefits of Sculptra?

When over-the-counter products just aren’t providing the smoother appearance you want, it may be time to consider Sculptra. This unique dermal filler provides a number of benefits, including: Long-lasting outcomes: Sculptra last up to two years for the right candidates. That’s much longer than wrinkle relaxers and some other dermal fillers. Natural results: Sculptra is made from a substance that’s already found in your body, so it creates results that look and feel completely natural. Treatment for multiple areas: Sculptra can be used to treat different areas based on your needs, including the cheeks, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines.

Who is an ideal candidate for Sculptra?

Sculptra is ideal for patients who want to improve contour in their cheeks without implants and surgery. Some candidates may have been born with flat cheeks, whereas others have full cheeks that deflated with age. Sculptra dermal filler can also help treat shallow to deep facial wrinkles and lines, including chin wrinkles, marionette lines, and nasolabial folds. Since Sculptra's formula works to boost the body's natural production of collagen in the skin, many patients will see a visible improvement in the appearance and overall health of their complexion.

How does Sculptra work?

Following your consultation to develop your personal treatment plan, you will receive your Sculptra injections in our procedure rooms. Your injector may apply a local anesthetic or numbing cream prior to cleansing and marking the areas to be injected. As soon as you are ready, Sculptra is injected into the deeper skin layers at the chosen sites. For best results, our team may suggest a series of four injections, each done at RareV about three weeks apart.

Results after Scluptra?

After your treatment, you may have mild to moderate swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising at the injection areas that should subside naturally in a few days. For faster healing, you may apply a cold compress to the injected areas. You should limit UV exposure as much as possible after your appointment and always use sun protection. Many patients will see improvements immediately after their Sculptra treatment, with complete results appearing after several months, as the increased collagen production improves the health of the complexion. If Sculptra is performed in a series over 3 – 4 months, a patient's results can be visible for up to two years.
